January 2019

The Friends of Regional Parks participated in the January 30th Master Plan Workshop to shape the future of Prado Regional Park. This was a chance for the community to share their ideas regarding their wants/needs for the park. There were activities for kids such as arts and crafts as well as refreshments.

There will be a similar event on Saturday, April 6th from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at Chafffey College. This is your chance to participate in an open discussion on park enhancements and activities. We will be there and hope to see you there too!

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved the addition of the Friends of Regional Parks to the County's Combined Giving Campaign. This provides County employees with the opportunity to support our mission through a payroll deduction. This is a huge opportunity for us to raise funds and we could not be more grateful!

Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman is an OAK level sponsor of the Friends of Regional Parks. His support and belief in our mission is very much appreciated by our Board of Directors. These sponsorship funds will be used for projects at Prado and Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Parks. We are so grateful for all Supervisor Hagman does for our communities.

F.O.R. Parks was awarded $4,000 from San Manuel Band of Mission Indians to support the Junior Fishing Workshops and Derbies. These funds will be used to purchase supplies and prizes for the 2017-2018 events. We are so grateful for all San Manuel does for our communities.

This year we are funding/working the Junior Trout Derbies and Junior and Adult Fishing Workshops; exploring an awesome opportunity to help Calico Ghost Town refurbish, preserve, and maintain the historical artifacts located at the park; purchasing and installing much needed new/updated signage on the trail ways; pricing, purchasing, and installing dog waste stations; … the list goes on. We know that you have many options for your giving and ask that you consider making a donation to the Friends of Regional Parks to help with these, and many other, projects.
